23 Operators in Taoyuan City Received Gold Water Quality Certification Marks

An award and recognition ceremony was held for the “Taoyuan City Gold Water Quality Certification” on October 27 (Thursday), where Deputy Mayor of Taoyuan City Li Xian-Ming was present in the morning. A total of 23 operators were awarded certification marks. Deputy Mayor Li mentioned that Taoyuan City has urged swimming pool, bathhouse, and hot spring operators to ensure sanitation management to improve the sanitary quality of business premises and protect the rights of consumers as the quality of life of people in Taiwan has been enhanced with more diverse recreation activity options. The Taoyuan City Gold Water Quality Certification Program was first launched in 2017 and has been conducted every two years. Operators volunteer to sign up for the program for self-management, creating vast benefits.

This year (2022), a total of 35 operators signed up for the program. The Department of Public Health not only evaluated the operators’ compliance with the provisions of the Taoyuan City Ordinance Governing Sanitary Management for Businesses, but also engaged experts to conduct on-site inspections at business premises. The water quality control SOPs, relevant water quality inspection records, and self-management and inspection status of the operators were assessed in a comprehensive manner. This year, there were 23 operators receiving “Gold Water Quality Certification” marks with a validity period of 2 years, starting from November 1, 2022, to October 31, 2024.

The Department of Public Health indicated that regular water quality inspections are carried out on a monthly basis for swimming pool, hot spring, and bathhouse operators in Taoyuan City to instruct them to ensure self-management so that good water quality and sanitation can be maintained. Through the award ceremony for Gold Water Quality Certification marks, the Department of Public Health hopes to foster the sanitation management capacity of operators, encourage them to voluntarily implement sanitation management, and improve the self-management level in relevant industries.
